Certified and Notarized Translations for U.S. Immigration

Overview of our Immigration Document Translation ServicesCertified Translation Services

Our immigration document translation services are part of our certificate translation services. Below is useful information pertaining to the translation of documents related to U.S. immigration, in regards to obtaining residency, citizenship, deferred action, work status or any other type of legal status in the United States.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S.), formerly Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS), requires a “certified translation” of all foreign language documents. These documents include birth certificates, marriage and divorce certificates, death certificates, diplomas and transcripts, court and police records and any other document not in English that the U.S.C.I.S. has required you to submit with your application.

Some customers misunderstand this requirement and ask for a “licensed translator” or “certified translator”. Please note that the U.S. government is not responsible for certifying or licensing translation professionals.

PLG has provided certification services to its clients during the past 16 years. As a corporate member of the American Translators Association, the largest trade group of the translation industry, we have certified a selected group of professional translators who have demonstrated great track records on certificate translation in various fields.

The translations, certified and notarized by PLG, have been accepted by a wide range of federal and local governments, including U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Our customers and numerous government agencies have been very happy about the quality and authenticity of the translations we have provided.

Why have PLG translate your certificates?

Since our founding in 1994, we have been translating documents and certificates of all kinds, including birth certificates, marriage licenses, transcripts and diplomas. Below, we have accumulated a list of our standard practices that we believe makes us a good candidate to translate your sensitive documents and certificates.

We certify your certificates.

Nearly every institution requires your translated documents to be certified. To do this, we provide a certification statement signed by one of our company representatives stating that the translation is complete and accurate to the best of our knowledge and is translated by a competent translator fluent in the source and target languages. The translation and the certification statement will be contained within our company letterhead. Please click here to see a sample of our certification statement.

We notarize your certificates.

We provide extra assurance that your certificates will be accepted by having the translations notarized. Some of our clients have claimed that a translation made by another agency or translator was not accepted because it was not signed by a public notary. We have thus made notarization a standard practice for all of our certificate translations, and it is included for free as part of our certificate translation process.

Premium customer support and walk-in services.

We have a committed support staff that gives all of our customers the attention they deserve. Give us a call and see for yourself at 1 (800) 760-1688, request a quick quote or send us an e-mail at info@plg-online.com. You are also welcome to visit our office any time during our normal office hours. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am – 6:00pm CST.

You receive the original translated documents.

Most institutions require an actual hard copy of the translated documents to be submitted. We can e-mail you a scan of the completed documents by request but we will certainly mail you hard copies of the completed documents, or you may pick them up from our office in Schaumburg during normal business hours. We provide you with two (2) translated copies each individually certified, notarized and printed on high quality paper.

We offer quick turnaround times.

Our standard turnaround time for certificate translations is 48 hours, but we offer next day and same day rush service by request. We take the necessary amount of time to make sure your certificates are translated correctly the first time with no additional delays. Please be cautious of translation agencies who offer same day or next day (24 hour) services at no additional cost. Many times they are not able to meet these short timetables or the translated documents are often delivered with errors. Rush requests often require additional resources to be translated properly. Please contact us for more details about turnaround times and pricing.

Your documents are safe with us.

We understand that your documents are sensitive and we treat your documents with confidentiality. Our professional staff and translators will not share your documents with any others who are not involved in the translation, certification or notarization of your documents. As a corporate member of the American Translators Association, we adhere to the ATA Code of Professional Conduct and Business Practices which states that we agree to "hold in confidence any privileged and/or confidential information entrusted to us in the course of our work."

Our company letterhead and information will be on your certificates.

We stand by our translation. If for any reason you or anyone has any questions, our address and contact information is located at the bottom of your translated certificates. Having our letterhead also ensures that the translation is made by a reputable professional translation agency.

We have a proven track record.

Our translations are accepted by most government and education institutions in the United States. Since our founding in 1994, we have never had a claim that our translations were rejected by either USCIS or any other government, corporate or educational institution.

Your documents are accurate and complete.

One of the things that we have built with our translators throughout the years working with them is trust. We trust our translators to provide you with accurate and complete translations and this is the reason why we continue to work with them. You can trust us that a qualified, professional translator will translate your documents.

Your documents are reviewed more than once to ensure accuracy.

After the translator has reviewed his or her translation, the translations are reviewed a second time by one of our staff members. We also give you the option to review the document yourself or by a third party before we certify and notarize.

Thank you for taking the time to read about why we believe you should use PLG to translate your certificate. If you have any questions or would like to request a quote, please do not hesitate to contact us at your convenience.
